Mamavation Monday - The Difference a Week Makes

I wasn't sure what image to go with this week. I ended up deciding to go with something beautiful. As some of you know, my positive week took a pretty sharp turn at the end of the week. My grandmother, the woman who raised me, has cancer. If that word alone wasn't scary enough, those words were followed by Stage 3, inoperable and throughout her body. I'm swinging through emotions faster than I ever thought possible. One moment I'm sobbing, the next I'm almost clinical in my thoughts of what I want/need to do with her and then I'm calm and ok. It's hard and I know that anyone who has gone through this knows exactly what I'm talking about. I ended up eating almost an entire box of Ding Dongs by myself. Bad for me but I'm not ashamed to admit it. I couldn't make myself go cook so I grabbed what was on hand.

On the other hand, I did better with my water. Getting back into the water habit is proving tougher than I remember the first time around. I've slid back into my habit of not drinking anything. I do know that the more I drink, the easier it will be so that's going to be my goal for again this week.

Plus, this week is our family camping trip. I can't begin to tell you how excited I am about this. This is the first time our family has been able to do anything like this. I honestly considered cancelling when we got the news about my grandma but I figured she would kill me. Turns out, I was right. She called me yesterday to ask me how it had gone. She thought it was this past weekend. We spent 45 minutes talking about what we were going to eat, what still needed to be packed and all things related to camping. She's so excited for us.

So, nobody expect to see me online from Wednesday late afternoon until Monday morning. I'm not sure if I'll be posting next week. It's going to depend on what we decide to do as a family. If I'm not here, I expect all of you to leave lots of comment love for all the other sistas. No slacking. I love y'all but I'm going camping with my family. :)

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I don't pretend to know what you are going through, but please know I am with you... ALWAYS and sending lots of love and light your way.

Yay camping! Also yay for continuing weight loss. I'm telling you, your diet really is working in a starnge and perverse way, but it is working. I don't totally understand it myself, but there you are. Keep hitting the water as much as you can hold. I want you to be like a water balloon. I'm horribly sad about your grandma. We'll do what we can.

Trina, I'm so sorry to hear about your Grandma. So many of my fond grade school memories are thanks to her. She's a fantastic lady. Praying for strength for you and your family through all of this.

Sorry to hear about your grandma. As someone else whose grandma is such a key part of her life, I know your sadness.

Don't forget to take care of yourself. As much as you want to offer to her, remember that you need to be healthy for her.

And take this time to regroup and just focus on you and your family.

I am so sorry about the news you received. Cancer is such an ugly scary thing! Know that my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

Good job on the water!

Have a wonderful camping trip, I hope you able to let a little of your fear and anxiety about your grandmother escape to nature!

Katie,

There are no words for this post that will help except to know that you and your Grandma are in our thoughts and prayers for HIS help with her health.

AS for you my new friend I hope you have a wonderful time camping with your kiddos because they grow up way too fast!

I personally like hoho's. The creme goes end to end, haha...I would never eat a whole box of those (hiding eyes from contact).

I can only offer you hugs in this situation with your grandmother. I lost mine a few days before my second was born to inoperable cancer. I was unable to make it to the funeral and that is still hard. Know that you are loved!

Have fun on your trip!! Thank you for all your help!
